TQ Morning Briefing

The Nasdaq closed at its first record since June. Meta surged on its AI agent. AMD hit a $1 trillion market cap for the first time. WTI fell 4.7% and the 10-year yield eased to 4.96%.

The Setup

Oil Fell for a Fourth Straight Day. Tech Did Not Need an Invitation.

The Nasdaq closed at its first record since June 2. The S&P gained 1.6%. The Dow added 0.8%. WTI fell 4.7% to around $95.50, its fourth consecutive losing session. The 10-year yield eased back to 4.96%.

Two catalysts drove the session. Diplomacy hopes lifted sentiment, with Trump open to meeting Iran's president at the UN and US-China talks in New York over the weekend ahead of Xi's visit.

And Meta (META) surged 12% on momentum from its Muse AI agent, dragging the whole tech complex with it.

The S&P pushed back into positive territory for September in a single session.

TQ Trade Implication

The session ran on diplomacy and one company's product launch. Neither is a durable macro catalyst. Crude fell a fourth day. This morning’s send said the barrel isn't the fuel bill. If diesel holds near $6.50 while WTI slides, the relief in yields is borrowed.

PREMIER FEATURE

In January, Gold Touched Nearly $5,600 an Ounce. Today It's Around $4,100.

So the story's over, right?

Then explain this.

The metal is still leaving the vaults. Physical deliveries still running at levels the exchange rarely processed before. Central banks still buying. Dealers charging 30-40% premiums over paper price for real coins.

When price falls but physical demand doesn't — only one of those two is telling the truth.

The paper market sets the price. The physical market sets the deadline.

Anyone who wished they'd bought miners before January's run just got handed the entry back.

One company I've been tracking controls an 88 million ounce deposit — trading near $4 billion. About 1% of the value of its metal in the ground.

That gap is the whole opportunity.

Theme One

Meta's Muse AI Agent Hit Number One on Apple's App Store. The Revenue Model Is New.

Meta (META) jumped 12%, its best day since April 2025. The catalyst was momentum building around Muse, its personal AI agent released two weeks ago. The app reached the top spot on Apple's App Store over the weekend. Social media filled with users sharing results.

Muse is free but has two paid tiers. Twenty dollars a month for heavier users and one hundred dollars for power users. Truist analyst Youssef Squali estimated Muse could add $28.5 billion in revenue for Meta by 2030, calling it "the clearest attempt yet to build a non-ad revenue stream."

This is the distinction the market has been waiting for. Meta's advertising business is large and proven. A subscription AI product layered on top of that base changes the revenue mix structurally. Every subscriber paying $20 per month is revenue that does not depend on advertiser budgets or cookie policies.

The Roundhill Magnificent Seven ETF (MAGS) hit a second straight all-time high, pulled higher by Meta's move and broader AI enthusiasm.

TQ Watch Signal

Meta stopped being priced as only an ad company today. A paid AI tier earns from the user directly, so it doesn't rise and fall with advertiser budgets. That hands the market a second revenue line to value, and it paid 12% for the first look. Ads sell the user. Muse sells to the user.

Theme Two

AMD Joined the Trillion-Dollar Club. The Rally Is Pricing Thursday.

Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) surged 9% and crossed a $1 trillion market cap for the first time in its history. Shares hit an intraday high of $613.92. Intel (INTC) jumped 11%. Qualcomm (QCOM) added 8%.

The chip rally was fueled by the same combination driving the broader session, falling oil prices loosening yield pressure and US-China diplomacy reducing the risk of further export controls. Cloud provider Nebius (NBIS) raising CPU pricing last week on AMD and Intel chips also confirmed that demand is outpacing supply.

AMD joins Nvidia, Broadcom and TSMC above $1 trillion. The bid ran on the China talks this morning's letter flagged.

Ciena (CIEN) also gained more than 4% after Evercore ISI upgraded it to outperform, calling its optical networking segment "a critical bottleneck in the AI buildout" and raising the price target to $550 from $375.

TQ Sector Read

AMD crossed $1 trillion on a summit that hasn't happened yet. The best outcome Thursday is an extension, which moves a deadline and changes nothing else. A chip rally priced for a deal is carrying risk the talks can't remove.

Theme Three

Paramount and Warner Bros. Discovery Settled. The Largest TV Portfolio in the US Is One Step Closer.

Paramount Skydance (PSKY) and a coalition of states settled the lawsuit blocking its $81 billion merger with Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD).

Four holdout states, Massachusetts, New York, Connecticut, and Minnesota, reached an agreement over the weekend after California settled earlier. Among the concessions discussed was a $1.5 billion Paramount investment in California production.

Warner Bros. Discovery jumped 11% on the news. Paramount shares slipped 2%.

The combined entity would hold the largest portfolio of TV networks in the US. The settlement clears the largest remaining legal obstacle to a deal that has been in negotiation for more than a year. The merged company would need to compete with streaming giants who have been eating into traditional TV audiences for a decade.

The divergence in stock reaction, WBD up 11% and Paramount down 2%, reflects typical merger mechanics. The discount to Warner’s acquisition price collapsed as a major transaction blocker was removed. Paramount adds the cost of integration, concessions, and a California production commitment.

TQ Execution Bias

The settlement turned Warner from a legal bet into a closing date. With the lawsuit gone, Warner trades on what the deal pays, and most of the discount closed today. Paramount carries what's left: a $7 million-a-day ticking fee after September 30. The risk moved from the courtroom to the calendar.

Quick Themes
  • Coinbase (COIN) announced it will giveindividual investors access to IPO shares at offer price starting with smart-ring maker Oura's listing this week. This is part of Coinbase's broader push to become an everything exchange, adding stock trading, prediction markets, and now IPO access alongside crypto. SpaceX (SPCX) allocated 20% of its $75 billion offering to individual investors, and Coinbase is building infrastructure to make that kind of retail access routine.
  • Accenture (ACN) surged afterannouncing a partnership with Anthropic to embed a team of evaluators inside the AI company to stress-test its models. Both companies plan to invest $1 billion each over five years in the AI safety effort. Accenture's shares were down 30% this year before the announcement on fears that AI would displace consulting work. A partnership to help develop the AI rather than just deploy it is a different positioning for the company.
  • Volkswagen (VWAGY) wasejected from the Euro Stoxx 50 blue chip indexafter shares fell 27.5% this year to their lowest level since 2010. Volkswagen is cutting 100,000 jobs and navigating US tariffs, Chinese competition, and the EV transition simultaneously. Stellantis was removed from the same index a year ago.
The Close

The Nasdaq Hit a Record. AMD Crossed $1 Trillion. Xi Arrives Thursday.

The session delivered the cleanest day the AI trade has had in weeks. Meta's product momentum, AMD's milestone, Nasdaq records, and falling oil all pointed the same direction.

The week gets harder from here. Six Fed speakers arrive Tuesday through Thursday. Xi lands Thursday. The November 10 trade truce expiry looms over every headline from that meeting.

General Mills (GIS) reports Wednesday and Costco (COST) reports Thursday, the same day as Xi. Both companies answer the question the Fed most needs answered right now: is inflation passing through to consumers or getting absorbed in margins.

3 STOCKS OUR SIGNAL ENGINE SAYS TO WATCH CAREFULLY

Three stocks. Three signals. Two weeks later, the story changed.

On September 2, we published three market questions around KLAC, HPE and PG&E.
Two weeks later, every one of them produced new evidence.

One company delivered record revenue and raised its outlook.
Another saw weakness spread across its entire peer group.
And in the third, a market risk that had only been showing up beneath the surface suddenly became explicit.
Yet none of these stories is finished.

That’s why we built Market Tell.
To track the signals that keep moving after the headline is gone — and show you what investors should be watching next.
