Spot bitcoin ETFs have pulled in more than $3 billion this month over an eight-day inflow streak, with BlackRock's IBIT absorbing roughly 62% of the recent money as bitcoin trades near $80,000.
U.S. spot bitcoin ETFs have logged eight consecutive days of net inflows, pulling in roughly $2.8 billion over that stretch and pushing August's total past $3 billion, the strongest monthly inflow figure so far in 2026 and roughly double what the funds took in during April. With three trading sessions left in the month, another $160 million of inflows would make August the largest inflow month since the products launched. Spot ether ETFs are running the same eight-day streak, adding more than $1 billion of their own over the period.
BlackRock's IBIT fund is absorbing the bulk of the money, taking in roughly 62% of recent inflows and pulling in about $1.3 billion last week alone, a concentration that has held fairly consistently since the ETFs launched and that gives BlackRock's flows outsized influence over the category's headline numbers.
Bitcoin itself is trading near $80,000, up about 2.5% over the past 24 hours, though still roughly 37% below its October 2025 all-time high near $126,000. The current rally is tracking alongside a broader run-up in technology stocks, with Nvidia chief executive Jensen Huang's comment this week that "AI has reached its inflection point" and that "compute is revenue" cited as part of the sentiment lifting both AI-linked equities and crypto together. Whether that correlation holds matters for anyone using bitcoin as a portfolio diversifier rather than a leveraged bet on the same AI-driven risk appetite already showing up in tech stocks.
